  Account Manager

The Account Manager will serve as the primary business contact for identified clients and is responsible for client satisfaction. The AM is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. In addition, the AM will build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities. The AM will work with existing and new retailers to identify, market and sell Balance Innovations products. The AM will also take an active role in the marketing and demonstrating of Balance Innovations' array of solutions at industry trade shows and forums. The AM will work jointly with the Marketing Director and Product Management to help develop and build brand awareness. The AM reports directly to EVP of Sales and will also coordinate with sales, marketing and product management for joint sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the account’s business goals and objectives as they apply to Balance Innovations 
  • Ensure 100% account satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain customer account strategy plans
  • Meet quarterly and annual quota objectives
  • Provide accurate forecasting based upon realistic opportunity assessments
  • Manage and prioritize business opportunities and projects
  • Create value propositions focused on business change and ROI
  • Develop effective responses to RFPs
  • Advise clients on complex change management implementations for new releases of software
  • Identify new business opportunities for Balance Innovations based on customer needs and BI product roadmap
  • Develop necessary skills to demonstrate the VeriBalance product at events and customer sites
  • Attend industry trade shows and promote Balance Innovations solutions
  • Take lead on all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue
  • Review all major client deliverables (i.e. strategic brief, functional spec, technical spec, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met, as well as serve as communicator of those deliverables
  • Ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the EVP of Sales of any problems that may arise
  • Own the contract and contract renewals for new work for an existing client.
  • Approve change orders and invoices, and is responsible for coordinating payment collections with accounting
  • Work closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Reports to the EVP of Sales, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure optimal client feedback to Product Management, Sales or other departments with regard to product requirements and enhancements.
  • Retain and grow your assigned book of business including meeting or exceeding up-sell targets.
  • Build appraisal system and appraise staff (include appraisal comments system).

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Proven account management and sales skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
  • Minimum 3-5 years of account/sales management experience
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc.)
  • Motivated, goal oriented, passionate, persistent and a skilled negotiator
  • High level of initiative and able to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well
  • Able to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or job equivalent
  • Up to 50% travel
